Soapbox Again Folks Soapbox time. I know, I know. We all have opinions and sometimes they don't agree, but that's what they make the X in the corner for. Feel free to use it at any time. I believe we should welcome people from other countries into our own. I believe people that fear for their lives in their own country should be allowed to live somewhere they can feel safe and be allowed sanitary conditions. I believe we, as the strongest and wealthiest country in the free world can afford to help these people. We should help provide education, work and the tools necessary to help them help themselves But I also believe that some things should be attached as a result of what they receive. I think gratitude, learning the language, paying taxes, paying into social security and working should go hand in hand with it. But then again, I also believe these attachments should also apply to able bodied US citizen's too. But first and foremost, I think we should stay unified as the United States of America and not be divided into subsets. I believe if you were born here, you are an American. If you choose to make this your home, you are an American. I don't think you should expect this country to feed you, cloth you and speak your language forever so you never need to speak English. If you don't want to speak English, go back to YOUR HOME where you can speak whatever language you choose to. If you are living in a country where you are in fear of your life, by all means come here but please speak English within a year. I know of people that have been in this country for over 20 years and still don't speak English. This isn't a new problem. It is just that now the government is making us out to be the bad guys because we chose not to learn Spanish, Chinese, etc. If I want to live in Mexico, damn straight I will learn Spanish. I can't imagine telling them the all have to learn English just for me. With that said, give a listen to the following
