Feeling better all around. What a day. First of all, our doctor called me. I asked him what was up with Terry's meds and he said that Doctor On-call didn't know that Terry had been on his meds for 8 years. He was under the impression that it was given him up in ICU for his anxiety about the face mask/machine he was on down there. He didn't know it was an ongoing med. He is forgiven. Next, Terry is doing much better, but it's still going to be there for a while. When he went in, his lungs were in critical trouble. I guess the stroke was almost a blessing in disguise. He was placed on 60 lpm (liters per minute) of oxygen. He is down to 40 lpm and they are decreasing it daily. Then after he is off the O2, they will have himm do rehab to allow him to move around again. There is no timetable yet. Another wait and see time. He enjoyed his phone calls today. He was surprised. abd Rosie. You made his day!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Lori went and took some things to him today. I have been hearing her talk about the ferrets since she got them. I finally told her today that she could bring one over to show me. She brought both. I give you
Snubba Wubba
and Princess
Princess is a ham. She is like silly putty in your hands. The names were given to them 2 or 3 years ago.
I have to admit it. They are so cute! One of them, (I think it's snubba) thinks he's a mission impossible spy, I think. He walks his front paws out so he is almost lying down, then I swear, it looks like his rear paws are on tip-toe as he runs them up to the front ones making his back shape into a loop. Then he runs about three or four feet with the two front paws about an inch fron the rear ones and all of a sudden he just jumps straight up in the air and ZIP! He's gone. He cracked me right up. Lori put the female, Princess right on my shoulder. She looked at me, decided I wasn't interesting enough and immediately went for my remote. She loves chewing on them. Then she just decided to investigate everything else in the house. I tried to give her a pork rind and she just grabbed it and hid it somewhere. I haven't found it yet. They are more inquisitive than kids! If you ever saw Beastmaster, you saw their personality. I did notice one thing while they were here. They are both white with red eyes and after playing with them for a few minutes, I think they are both deaf. It doesn't appear to bother them any, but even when I clapped right behind them, they showed no sign of noticing. Then again, I know a few two and three year olds like that. It amazes me the way Miya and Deja are with them. Lori said it was time to go and she just reached right down and scooped it up. She has no fear of them. They (according to the old owner) have never bit. I believe it. Lori has had them now for about 4 weeks and they can do anything with them. They don't even mind their baths. They try to get away, but the always try to get away. They don't seem to have any desire to do anything except to keep moving. I got tired watching them. Well, I am going to go and make myself an intoxicating beverage. I sure won't need any help sleeping tonight. I am bushed. But I am happy.
