Checking in Terry came home on Friday afternoon. He is slooooowly healing. He's on oxygen but the doctor told him it isn't permanent. His stroke left no long-term effects but he is sleeping an awful lot. He has gone to bed all three nights at around 9:00 and slept right through til 8 or 9:00. Then he goes back for a nap around 1:00 until about 4:00. Actually, today he only slept 1 1/2 hours this afternoon. As I said, it is going to take time. The visiting nurse came today and talked us into getting meals on wheels at least for now. We can pay the donation easily enough so we decided to do it. The amount they ask would cost that in groceries anyway. Terry only has a nurse to take his vitals twice a week and listen to his chest. This is good because, first of all, though I sometimes talk like I think I know a lot, I am not a nurse and I don't know diddly sometimes so, if he needs to go back in, She will tell him. I am posting again tomorrow night as see if we can get back to normal around here. One thing I need to say. Terry is very appreciative of all the phone calls and comments he got. He isn't quite up to doing and entry yet, but he will soon and give his own thanks. One thing I want to add. This is totally off the subject, but I just read it and wanted to share. I did not know this. I am smarter now than I was yesterday. Let me ask a question. What is the best way to put out a grease fire on your stove? If you said cover with a damp, wrung out dish cloth, you would be correct. Also a lid or a fire extinguisher. What is the worst thing to use? Most people know it is water. Water is heavier than the grease and it will cause the water to shoot up to the ceiling and spill to the floor, igniting everything in its path. What is as bad, if not worse? Throwing sugar or flower on a grease fire will cause an explosion equal to 2 sticks of dynamite. I did not know that. I know I have heard salt is okay. If I were to reach for the salt and the sugar were close, I would probably have blown myself up. As it is, being on oxygen, my feet would be headed out the door so this is moot, but if I told just one other person that didn't know this, it was worth it. I also checked this out on reputable sites. It is very true. Later, Cosmic
