Back to work tomorrow.... oooops, nevermind.

I am so bad. I never thanked Shear for my award.

I think she is one classy lady too. And she says the sweetest things! Now I am supposed to pick three to give it to. Most all my reads have one already, but I will try to pass it to others that havent received it. If they have, well, so be it. Now they have two. The first one would be:

Purple Chai She is total class. Why? One reason is that she is a Librarian. I personally think that all librarians deserve an award. How wonderful to be responsible for infusing (neener) young minds with the gift of words.

LA For one reason, the lady reeks class. How can she NOT? After all, what is right in the middle of c-L-A-ss but LA! Well, okay, she is a little bit off. But arent we all? She has been through a lot since I first started reading her. She has weathered it all and come through it all a stronger woman, a more self-confidant woman and is now in a wonderful time and place. I hope it continues for her.

Last but by no means least is Katress. I have been reading her diary since forever. Her mom, in case you dont know is our very beloved Lena Kat has had her share of lifes lessons. She has come through beautifully and stronger for it. She is woman, hear her roar! She is mom to two great doggies. Of course they spend a lot of time and the granparents. If I have you confused because you dont know them, its about time you did.

My husband and I were talking tonight about the wonderful program that the Walmart Pharmacy has for generic drugs. Many people buy their generic medications at Walmart for only $4.00 each. I know some people use this store for their generic but because of their insurance or for whatever reason buy some fo their other prescriptions elsewhere. I told my husband that I hope anyone that purchases their prescriptions at more than one pharmacy tells their primary care physician the total of prescriptions they take from various doctors.

Gone are the days when we had one doctor for everything. Now you have a different one for almost every part of your body. Oh, and often, one for your mind. If I count my own, I have a GYN, Cardiologist, pulmonary doctor, a second pulmonary doctor, my eye doctor, a foot doctor, a urologist and my primary. I am taking medication prescribed by three of them. Please be vigilant if you are a patient, a caregiver or a parent. Make sure that each of the doctors of the patient have a complete list of the medications that are being taken.

I go to one pharmacy for all of my prescriptions but I know of many people that dont. They may go to Walmart for their generic and use another one because it is close to home or work or for any number of reasons. Mine has a computer system that shows if a combination of a new medicine and a med I am already taking will pose a danger. Many pharmacists have that capability. Not all do.

If you have more than one pharmacist, ask to speak to him or her when filling a new prescription. Take a list of the medicines you are already taking and show the pharmacist. They will know if there is any interaction with any medications you are already taking.

There are many wonderful drugs out there but there are many, when used in combination with others can be lethal. Please check with any friends and relatives that shop with more than one pharmacy. If there is any question, take the list of medicines to one of your pharmacists. If they arent busy, I am sure they will be happy to browse the list and tell you if there could be any problems.

One more note I would like to add. I am sure most of you do this now, but it doesn't hurt to remind folks. Any time you have tests of any type taken, ask the peron in charger to send a copy of the report to your primary physician. They don't always do this unless you ask. Not only does this ensure your doctor is kept up on what other doctors may be doing, but it also will keep you from being billed for duplicate tests. Most insurance companies will not want to pay for two of the same test done within a short amount of time and pass the charges for the duplicat onto you.

That concludes my Public service announcement for today.

I leave you with this. Its starting to be a trend here lately so I guess Its about time I give it a name. I give you:
