Wow, how things can change in a heartbeat. Friday, the police told Lori at the scene of the accident that there was no way the accident could be her fault. Today, her lawyer says the woman said she was going straight and Lori tried to pass her and Lori hit HER!
Luckily, my kid isn't dumb. She took my camera and took some shots of the woman's car (had to find her street first. Then she knocked on doors until she found the woman (hereafter called nice lady), who appeared almost instantaneously (neener) after the accident. It turns out the woman was walking her dog and saw the whole thing from about 30 feet away. She asked the woman if she would repeat what she said to the lawyer. God bless her, she said yes. She also told the lawyer that the police got there and never asked her if she saw anything. Yup, good ole small town.
The attorney said Lori is quite the investigator. He assured her that settling this should not take long at all.
I am really hoping they call it totaled. If I have to live without my Echo at least, I will be okay. I woman has a car for sale. A 1997 (yes, its old) navy blue Saab S Convertible!! Oh ya! It sold for 40,000 new and it has only had one owner. Fingers crossed. Ive always wanted a convertible.
The bad news it that Lori ended up back at the hospital again for her hip. They took a cat scan and told her there wasnt much they could do until the scan comes back. I just hope it isnt cracked. We should know in the next few days.
This is the video Lori shot this morning for the lawyer. He was very impressed. I managed to up load it, put it on a disk for him and then upload it to youtube. I am so proud of me!!
This is with the hood open. The adjuster made all the yellow marks on it. Sure looks totaled to me.
