Workin on the chain gang, goin down, down, down. Not much going on here except with Lori. She started a new job a few days ago. Along with being a bail bond person and working part time for the census, she is now working for a local radio station. She is selling advertising, doing promos and as of tomorrow, she will be online with the DJ doing a live broadcast. Whew, all that and being a single mother of 3 girls. She blows me away. And add to this that she has now been told she MUST have the back surgery she has been putting off. Her accident 5 years ago has caught up with her. There is a part of her spinal shaft, casing or whatever its called that is seriously degenerating. For the past few weeks, she has been walking around with numb legs, feet and even her nether region is sometimes numb. Im sure she would just love to know Im telling you all this. Luckily, she doesnt read this. It scares me to no end that she wont get it done now. She keeps putting it off because she will be laid up for 6 to 8 weeks. I told her if she doesnt get it done soon she runs the risk of it becoming inoperable. Does she listen? Of course not. She is 32 years old, so grounding her isnt an option. To all of you with young kids and teenagers. No, it never ends. On a brighter not, I was reading poolagirl earlier and she listed different (And some were very different) jobs she has had over the years. I told her I was going to steal her idea and do it myself. Here ya go. I am going to try and go chronologically and see if I can even remember them all. Sandwich maker Cocktail waitress (more than once) Department store clerk Cook in a Mexican Take-out (Had to quit. Smell made me sick to my stomach) Auto Parts driver (very short term) Department store cashier Gift shop owner Ice cream sandwich packer Video store clerk (One of my favorites!) United States Army Reserve Financial Aid Advisor (School of cosmetology) Commercial lines insurance rater Switchboard operator Night Auditor Garde manger Dishwasher Short order cook Housekeeper Parlor Maid Cabana Girl Corrections Officer Secretary Receptionist Button Maker FSS Coordinator Wanted to be: Librarian Lawyer Hopefully, if I ever get my book finished, I will someday add Author to my list of did.
