Sinful Cheesecake - (I'm gonna burn in Hell!)

From yesterday: I lost my list of favorites when I redesigned yesterday. Please check and let me know if I lost you and I will put you back. Also, let me know if you want to be listed if you weren't listed before. I aim to please.

Boy was I ba-a-a-d yesterday. Never, never, never go shopping when you're hungry! I knew that, but did I listen??? No. I didn't. And because I didn't I came home with all kinds of goodies that I would never buy if I were to have gone, say, after a full breakfast.

Last night, around 6:00, we ate the most delicious shrimp cocktail ever! I didn't settle for the small to mediaum size shrimp, no, not I. I had to buy the HUGE ones. They were so huge, (How huge were they?) They were so huge that after eating 8 (Yes we ate 8. We are not the uppercrust society that would daintily eat 3 or maybe 4 and be satisfied.) We were too full to eat a proper dinner. So naturally, we were hungry again around 8:00.

I must clear one thing up here. I don't know where you grew up, but in my family we had three meals eaten as such. 7:00am we had breakfast, 12:00 we had dinner and 5:00 we ate supper. There! I said it! If someone had told us we had to wait till 5 or 6 for dinner, we would have had a fit! We eat dinner at noon! And, I may as well confess all. Being from Maine, We actually ate dinna and suppa. Ok! Make fun of me! We did it right! For purposes here, I shall continue to use the phrase lunch and dinner, as it seems most other people do. Ok, back to the story.

So, at 8:00 we were starving. Terry asked what there was to munch on. Now, by munch, he means a hadfull of candy or a bowl of popcorn. Boy did I have a surprise for him! I had bought (during my half-starved shopping spree) the most perfect chocolate/plain marbeled cheesecake. Now this cheesecake measures about 6" in diameter. Cutest little thing. I also must have been influenced by those strawbarries at the top of this page because I also bought a little basket of them too. I cut the cake in 4 pieces. In retrospect, I now realize that one little cake could have fed 8 people. But it looked so tiny! Anyway, I cut it into four and put a piece on each plate. I sliced two strawberries, (They on the other hand being HUGE), on top of the cake. Then I have this strawberry mix in the refrigerator. Someone gave it to me awhile back. It is supposed to be for Daquaris but it is non-alcoholic and makes a great topping. Nice and thick. So I poured that on top and finished it off with whipped topping. My only saving grace is that the whipped cream was "Light". Sure.

We sat down and started eating that sucker. Have you ever gotten full, but the food was so good you kept taking just "one more bite"? Well suffice it to say, I don't think I will be hungry for the next two weeks and the cat is pissed because there were no leftovers. Well, there IS the other half, but I am saving it for mid-week.

That Little cake was $7.99 and worth its weight in gold! I did kind of get carried away at the store though. I got home and Terry kept carrying in the bags. A usual trip to the store for a week will cost us around $50.00. I spent a whopping $137.00. And it would have been $177.00 but I have my hippy dippy Shaws discount card. This is a neat thing they do. They have weekly specials of buy one - get one free, and cents off other things but you have to have the card. I do. In the summer I am sure the tourists give them full price. Most of the ritzy-rich wouldn't be so goche as to use a discount card. I'm sure they think of them as trailer trash items. Let 'em. So anyway, I went kind of nuts. What can I say? It had been 4 weeks since I had been shopping. And I DID save all that money.

Well if nothing else goes well this coming week, we will eat well.

I still haven't started painting the bedroom. Maybe today. Maybe not.

Later...

Later,
Cosmic
