I am a little behind. A Sad Day for Comedy John Inman 28/6/1935 - 8/3/2007 I don't know how I could have missed this. He passed away over two weeks ago! Before I met hubby way back in 1995, I never watched any british television. It wasn't that I didn't like it as much as I could never understand it. Most of the British comediens have a very thick accent and speak way too fast. Or so I thought. After meeting hubby, I fell in love with his accent. And even though he had been in the states since 1978, it was, and still is, very strong. But if you add a couple six-packs, it's a bloody foreign language! At least I don't have that problem anymore since he no longer drinks. But anyway, after I had been with him a year or so, I hardly noticed the accent anymore. The funny part is that I started enjoying British comedy too! I understood it when they talked! I had developed Brit's ears! We have spent many hours watching John (Mr. Humphries) Inman on the show, Are You Being Served. I love that show. I love John Inman. I love Mrs. Slocum. We watch it in reruns along with Keeping Up Appearances, Waiting for God and As Time goes By with Judi Dench. If you have never caught any of these shows, try them on for size. It is humor or should I say humour of a different sort. I love it. It is fresh, funny and sometimes quirky, but always entertaining. So I end this little entry with one question, you may or may not understand, Are You Free?? Later, Cosmic
