Gas!! GAS!!! Yesterday morning, 8:00am $2.89. 3:00pm $2.96. This morning, $3.02, Tonight, $3.21 Un-freakin-believable. This is giving me indigestion. I'd rather just have gas. (Hardy-Har-har-har!) My landlord works for FEMA. He is 68 and does all his own repairs on his properties. He had about 6 when I met him 10 years ago. He has reduced that number to three including his own. He mows his own grass and cleans all the gutters. Last month he even cut down a bunch of trees on the property. The man does more work than some 40 year olds I know. He just got back into town last night from upstate NY and is leaving in a few days for the south. His wife gives him grief sometimes about being gone so much, but this time she isnt even trying to give him an argument. The first time in years. She is a wonderful lady, really. He left the house today and we probably wont see him for a month or so. I dont know how he does it facing all the destruction and pain he sees with FEMA. He spent over a month in NYC after 911. He said that was horrible. He is a very caring person and these trips drain him emotionally. I wish him well.
On the apartment front, tenant number one has moved out of her apartment. She hasnt turned the keys in yet, but they should be forthcoming (neener neener, I said forthcoming and you didn't, Poolagirl)tomorrow. Bosslady has already told the painter that she wants him in there as soon as possible. I am guessing that Tenant number two will be in there within two weeks. Then her place will be painted out and we will get the keys. It cant happen fast enough. It is going to be a little difficult moving. I am not going to be able to take a week off like I planned. Charl is out for the next 8 to 10 weeks with an undiagnosed illness. Only one person can take vacation at a time. So it looks like I will have two days to move and then have to do all my unpacking after work each day. This is going to be interesting. Of course Terry will be doing a lot of it, thank God. Oh well, one day at a time.
