The Great Exodus You may remember last Sunday that I posted this as my update:
Today, Sunday:
New apartment still has stuff in it that belongs to outgoing tenant.
Tenant has not turned in keys.
Painter is in the hospital for undisclosed tests.
Painter has no clue when he will be done said tests.
Outgoing tenant has not transferred out the cable, internet or phone.
Bank hit my account for rent again this week after my canceling it.
I went into apartment. Her furniture had hidden the dirt well. Movers still planning on arriving Saturday to move us.
Well, once again, the difference in a few days is amazing. Update 3 days later:
Everything is out of the unit and off the property.
Tenant has turned in the keys.
Our two-man maintenance team has managed to paint out the apartment in 2 days
Cable, internet and gas are scheduled to be turned on.
I have the keys and daughter helping to clean tomorrow night and I have Friday off!
Movers still arriving Saturday.
We are also going to be able to take our own stove and refrigerator. Sort of. Our fridge is 3 inches too wide, so we had to pop for a new one. We will get our money back when we sell the other one. They provide them in the units, but I didn�t want to give up my stove. I love my stove.
The stove is black and stainless so we have to either buy a new black fridge
or use their white one. That would look silly, so that is not an option. It was money we weren�t planning on spending, but we got it at a reasonable price, so that�s that. Again, I am the optimist. This move will go smoothly with no hitches, nothing broken and we will all survive.
Tomorrow, I will be spending all day at the new place. There is a lot of cleaning to do and I am going to put up all my curtains. I also want to get all my food over there so all I have to concentrate on Saturday is the movers. I am not going to be online from Friday night until sometime Saturday night or Sunday. This is going to be tough folks. I hope I will survive the withdrawal. I�ll just be glad when this is over. SO far, things are going as planned and I hope know it will continue that way. Thank God for Lori. I don�t know what I�d do without her right now. Last night she loaded up her Blazer with a ton of stuff. She is taking as much as she can over to the new place today for me. The plan is to have almost everything over there today except the furniture and computers and food for two days. Fingers crossed. I am so behind on reading all of you. I click one or two at a time on my page but if anything big happens or has happened, don�t think I am insensitive if I haven�t commented. I probably haven�t read it yet. I will eventually. Next week it�s just me in the office on Monday, and Bosslady and me for the rest of the week. That works. It always seems to be a nice week when we work alone. Less hectic. I'm going to be needing a break.
