2nd Entry Tonight. Click "jumpback" near the bottom for my entry from earlier today. This is too important to wait for a day. On the news tonight they had a warning for all dog owners. If you use sugar-free gum, candy, etc. please make sure you keep it far from your dog. An ingredient in Extra, sugar-free gum, for one, contains Xylotol (pronounced Zy-low-tol.) The owner of the dog in the story had a little peek-a-poo. Her dog ate her extra gum and had to have his stomach pumped.
It releases insulin and makes the blood sugar drop which can lead to seizures, kidney failure and death. Symptoms may take up to 12 hours to occur. In 2003, there were 117 cases of poisoning reported. in 2004 it was up to 170 and so far this year, 150. Put it out of reach. Even a good dog, like a good child can't be trusted not to get into it if it's within reach. Thank you for reading. The best friend you save, may be your own. Later, Cosmic
