Terry and I were talking this morning about layoffs and business closings. He mentioned that Woolworth was closing in the UK. For almost 100 years the UK stores and the US stores have gone their separate ways and run their stores differently. The US closed in 1997, according to what I have been able to find but a town in California has a museum
In Oxnard that contains so many memories I will have to revisit the site many times. Gee, poolagirl, too bad its 185 miles away. I could definitely see you working there. For those of you that are interested, the site is here
In the How Stupid is This? category, I give you this, printed without permission from Yah@@ news;
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. Here's some food for thought: If you have nude photos of your wife on your cell phone, hang onto it.
Phillip Sherman of Arkansas learned that lesson after he left his phone behind at a McDonald's restaurant and the photos ended up online. Now he and his wife, Tina, are suing the McDonald's Corp., the franchise owner and the store manager.
The suit was filed Friday and seeks a jury trial and $3 million in damages for suffering, embarrassment and the cost of having to move to a new home.
The suit says that Phillip Sherman left the phone the Fayetteville store in July and that employees promised to secure it until he returned.
Manager Aaron Brummley declined to comment, and other company officials didn't return messages. Come on folks! Whose fault is this? Is it even true, or did they plan this all along? This would be a heck of a scam. I am sure there are plenty of women out there that wouldnt mind their picture being shown that would love to cash in on a $3 mil lawsuit. Just sayin.But even happened like they said, How is this McDonalds fault? The employees that used the pictures? Certainly. But not the whole company. When are the laws going to start placing blame where it belongs? If you hurt yourself slipping on the floor because the place isnt clean, that is negligence and yes, you should blame the store too, but this was the act of one or more individuals. I do not see how you can assign blame to the company nor the franchise owner. Crazy. Just plain crazy.
Cold enough for ya? Terry said this morning that it was so cold that the squirrels were wearing Hoodies. Thats cold!
Later, Cosmic
