I'm Exhausted!! Karen got the car! Karen got the car!
High ho the dairy-o
Karen got the car!
It looks brand new, inside and out. It is immaculate. Heather (the owner and my new best friend) drove it home for me and it is killing me that I cant drive it around. I cant register it until Friday!! It has a killer stereo system in it. If I was a tad younger I would ride down the street with it blasting! But alas, at my age, I just put in my Neil Diamond and a normal decibel and listened for a bit. N-i-c-e. Life can't get any better, right? Wrong. Just 10 minutes ago, my landlord called.
Me: Hello?
Him: Do you know who this is?
Me: Yes, I know its Kenny. I waited for him to tell me that he would like to show the house. I groaned inwardly thinking that I wouldnt have to have strangers in again until at least after Christmas.
Him: I have a Christmas present.
Me: Oh ya? Whats that? I am wondering why he would call to tell me abut HIS Christmas present.
Him: I took the house off the market. Im not selling it. Can you believe that??? Not only is he not selling it, but he doesnt want us to move! I cried. Yes, I did. Then I explained that due to my job and everything considered we still will move into Public Housing when it becomes available, but it is wonderful that we will move when it comes around and not before. That means that if the new apartment doesnt open up for a year or so, we are still safe. How blessed do I feel right now? Very. I think I am going to go make myself a drink. These past few days have been emotional. That is perhaps the biggest understatement I have ever made in my life. Tomorrow, I finish my Christmas shopping and have a trip to the eye doctor. I was supposed to have my physical, but I begged off because first of all, I didnt get my bloodwork done until this morning and I know the results wouldnt be back. Another reason is because I was supposed to see my car at 3:00. Heather, (my new best friend) brought it to my office so I could check it out. I took it around the parking lot a couple of times. My appointment was at 3:30 and I knew I probably wouldnt get there on time. I was right. I never left until after 4. An amusing side note to this was that I had my bloodwork done at 7:30 this morning. Around 11:15, I got a phone call from the lab. It seems that I was also supposed to leave a urine specimen but nobody asked for one. The lady asked if I could go back in and give her one. My answer? Wow, I have had some strange requests for things this Christmas season, but that one takes the cake. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
Later, Cosmic
