Friday Five
1. Are you superstitious?
Sort of. I believe in some forms of Karma, which some would say is superstition. I believe what goes around, comes around. I think what you give out will come back to you tenfold. I don�t know if that�s superstition or wishful hoping. I don�t believe in the superstition about black cat�s crossing your path, or 7 years bad luck for breaking a mirror. I don�t think those thing are rooted in superstition, just old myths carried down through by word of mouth through the years. I used to believe that things happen in 3�s, but lately they happen in 4�s, 5�s and 6�s.
2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
Personally none, really. I have heard of people checking the weather forcast to marry in the rain for good luck. I have heard of people not getting out of bed on Friday the 13th for fear of bad luck. Though that in itself doesn�t seem like a bad idea at all today.
3. Believer or not, what's your favorite superstition?
I would like to believe the whishbone one. I think that is just because it was one of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving.
4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual? No. I think we create our own luck. I believe that if we think we are jinxed, anything and everything that can go wrong will go wrong. On the other hand, I think a positive attitude helps much more.
5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not? I am in-between on this. I think that astrology and numerology play a part in the great cosmic plan, but to what extent, I don�t know. This would explain why many people born under the same sign have many of the same abilities or vices. But, then again, horoscopes are too generalized to be of any use.
