Routers, Front Page and more damn snow! I wouldn't say I have been busy, but my cat, Good Girl left me a guestbook entry today. I have to admit, there were no typos. As I said, I have been busy. We switched from Cable ISP to DSL and have been waiting for the router to arrive. It came today. I got a pretty good deal from Amazon.com. We bought one from a person that had one for sale there. We saved about $20.00. And we are back up! The best part is that I didn't have to deal with the jerks at Radio Shark. I don't know how they are in your neck of the woods, but I think they must run ads in the Newspapers something like this... Do you want a job where you need to know absolutely nothing about electronics? Come work at Radio Shark! You get to wear a nice white shirt and tie and look important to all your friends that look ridiculous in their fast food uniforms. You get to work crazy shifts that will piss you off but you won't care! You will be earning minimum wage baby!! You will get to impress your friends talking about tweeters and woofers. Of course you don't have to know anything, you just need to sound as though you do! You can join our management team and learn to say, "I don't have an answer for you, that is a corporate question. And no, I can't ask them, corporate is in Texas and I don't know how to operate their telephone menu! You will get to tell Cosmicrayola that you "don't offer no tech support" (and yes I quote here) on routers. Yes, YOU can work here! Your mother and father can work here! Even your 6 year old sister can work here because we DON'T CARE WHO we hire! Gee, can ya tell that I don't like Radio Shark?
I have also received my latest shipment of studies from school. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if you are told to do an assignment on your Front Page 2002, shouldn't you have the software? Ummm, seems so. So last night, I called the school and they said they would send it to me. I went back on their website to find that they aren't even using Front Page if you sign up now. They are using Dreamweaver, which is a far better program according to my son. He says that front page takes up a lot more room so the pages load a lot slower or something. So I got back on the phone to see if I can switch over to Dreamweaver. They are supposed to call me back tonight and let me know. I hope I can.
Well, tomorrow we are going to get, are you ready for this? 3 - 5 inches of snow! Oh happy day! Well, the upside is that, that, that... Damn, there IS no upside! I have decided that my new mantra is "Only 7 weeks til May ohmmmmmm, only 7 weeks til May ohmmmmm, only 7 weeks til May, ohmmmmmmmmm" Later... Later,
