Now that all the secrets are no longer secrets and the news has posted it, I am free to say, WE KNOW WHERE HARRY IS!! Yes, he called his wife and mom finally. He is on a 2 week rest halfway between Mosul and Bagdad. He is safe and sound and doing fine. He told his wife, Gloria, that he wants books so I will send him out a couple tomorrow. He told her he hasn't gotten mail since about 2 weeks ago. He has gotten mine though. But the rest should catch up to them soon. I am sending him my phone number. Like I told Gloria, if he has phone time, I am sure he will call her and him mom, but if neither are home, I am sure he would rather call anyone he knows, rather than give up the phone time. So maybe I will get a call someday soon. I am not so naive as to think that this is all over and everything has stopped, but I think the vast majority of soldiers are pretty safe now.
His wife tried to give him some sage advise and reminded him to make sure he wears his seat belt. He told her "No way!" He said they never know whether or not a granade will come sailing into the vehicle and they have to be able to jump out at a moments notice. He himself has fired off a few rounds since he's been there, but fortunately, not a lot or often.
Switching gears here, I am once again a Great aunt. My niece in Arizona gave birth last night. This means that as of today, I have 6 nieces, 8 nephews, 9 great nephews and 11 great nieces! Add my two kids to the mix and my own 5 grandchildren and if my mom were still alive, she would have 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren! Wow!
Tomorrow, I hope to have a few pictures to post. Hubby has his scanner working, so I want to post a few goodies. Hopefully. It's been pretty quiet around here lately, but Sister Stella and her friend are supposed to be moving here in two weeks, so that will be fine. Gee, 9 years ago when I moved here, I missed my family terribly. Now, within two weeks, I will have two sisters, a brother and my daughter and granddaughter within a 45 minute ride from here. I guess the missed me too, lol.
Well time to get ready for work. It is me and boss lady alone for the rest of the week. Charl is vacationing in Florida and Jan is out sick. I get more done with fewer people though. Strange, but it works out like that. So you all have a wonderful hump day.
