Tuesday Catchup My Nephew's wife, Gloria gets a newsletter from the company commander, as do the other wives in Harry's unit. This time, we were all excited to read this about that: "They have also been busy making several improvements to the site with support from SPC Seavey of the company engineer section." So we know he is doing ok. Hopefully, they are going to start rotating troops so the ones that have been there the longest will start coming home. Some have left already as replacements arrived. My surgeon that did the reconstruction on my chest was shipped out a week or so ago. I just wish they would all come back. Sunday's cookout went nice. We sat around and chatted and told stories, yada yada. I couldn't wait to get home to my air conditioner. It was so nice walking in after being outside in the 90 degree temps all afternoon. When I left, I was wearing a white blouse with 3/4 length sleeves and my jeans. I came home wearing a sleeveless blouse and shorts. No, I didn't take a change of clothes. A pair of scissors works wonders. THe food wasgood, as was the company. Monday at work was crazy. It was typical of a Monday after a holiday but Jan is on vacation and Bosslady was off too, leaving just Charl and me. It was fine though. We survived. I bought the bunkieboards for our beds today. Tomorrow I will buy the sheets and we will be in them tomorrow night. It is going to seem good to sleep without interruption after all this time. I love him dearly, but I need my sleep! Along with the bunkie board shopping, We boxed in the air conditioner. It is a wall unit, but now it is a permanent fixture in our living room window. Why do I call it permanent? Cause Two tubes of caulking, two strips of wood and some styrofoam say I can. That sucker isn't going anywhere. Even in November. It is there to stay. Time to get off this thing and watch some TV.
