Not a good day for Deja Now that I have all the facts, I am seeing red tonight. Lori, my daughter came home from work yesterday to find a very upset daughter. Deja is 6 and weighs a whopping 45 pounds. She is a little pint of peanuts. It seems that she got on the bus after school yesterday and tried to sit down. She knows that the back seats are reserved for the "big kids". She just started this school the first of March when Lori moved back here, but she knows the bus rules. She is in the first grade and the back seats are for the 4th and 5th graders. Well, I guess the girl sitting in the seat next to the window didn't want Deja to sit next to her, so while the adult bus aid was wathing out the window, writing her shopping list or whatever the hell she was doing, this girl proceeded to punch Deja in the stomach and scale her across the isle into the window. End result? Deja's front tooth knocked out! This other girl towered over her by about 10 inches and she has about 30 pounds on her. Oh wait, it gets better. Lori asked the baby sitter who brought Deja into the house, expecting it to be the bus driver or the aide. Nope. Nobody. They just dropped her off and left. This little baby walked into the house with bloody tissue to her mouth and her tooth in her pocket. When asked what the bus driver said, she told her mother that he just told her to put it under her pillow. I am livid! Lori called me and we talked about it. First thing she did was to file a police report. This was not done to file charges against the girl. It was just to document it for future reference. Lori called the school, but of course by 4:15 she only got the answering machine. She then called the school bus company. The woman that answered had no clue what happened because the bus driver never filed a report. The head of the bus company told Lori she would find out what happened and call her back today. She called her this morning to tell her that she asked the driver and aide what happened and they said the never saw what happened so they didn't file a report. When asked what they did when they found out about it, the aide said she gave Deja some tissue, but she may have pulled it out herself. Give me a freakin break! The tooth wasn't even loose. This 6 year old girl pulled out her own tooth and threw herself across the isle. Ya, right The driver claims he never realized there was a problem until she got off the bus. Then if that is the case, riddle me this. Why was Deja, who's stop is midway between the bus route, dropped off before any other children? Yup, straight shot to her door. I guess the driver had ESP. Lori took her to the ER and they took x-rays, but said she had to see a dentist as soon as possible be cause they didn't have the same x-ray equipment the dentist uses. Lori told this to the Principle of Deja's school when she went there today and are you ready for this one? The principle told her that the school nurse could take care of her. Now I have the utmost respect for nurses, but since when does a nursing degree give said nurse dentistry credentials? The only good part to today was the girl that did it admitted to the whole thing and apologized. Her father told her to give Lori his number so he could apologize to her too. At least someone has an ounce of smarts in the group. So it ended with Lori telling them that she is taking Deja to the dentist, BUT she will not be paying the bill. The principle ended up telling her to advise the school when she decides what action she is going to take. I told Lori to write down everything that was said and by whom and take it all up to the superintendant of schools office on Monday. Oh, just for the record. Deja asked Lori this morning when she was going to the hospital. Lori told her they would go as soon as miya woke up and sent Brittni out to her bus to middle school and told Deja to go play in her room. Lori layed down for a bit with Miya for minute and fell back to sleep. She woke up a half an hour later and asked Miya (who is 4) where Deja was. Deja had gotten dressed, told Miya to go back to bed with mom, got on her bus and went to school. Nobody's gonna scare that kid! This is so far from over. I have an insane desire to tell big sister Brittni to beat the hell out of the kid, but Gramma is biting her tongue. Violence is what got this whole thing going. But if the little brat should have a run in with Karma, I want to be there. Later... Later, Cosmic
