Lori and Girls Great Adventure Lori and the girls should arrive in Destin, Florida today around 2:00pm. They left Friday night at 11:00 and drove till 5:00 am. At that point, the girls were sound asleep so she pulled into an open McDonalds and caught an hour and a half of sleep. So far, fortunately, the drive has been uneventful (knock wood). I thank God for that. I am really not too worried. The car is a rental, Lori has roadside assistance with Sprint and she is armed with a can of mace. She got back on the road and called me around 10:00 from Virginia. They had stopped at the Waffle house for food. I called her later and she was in North Carolina. They had stopped for lunch/dinner and by now, they were seeing a big difference from home. Lori (who has never been known for her shyness, went up to get her food. She said the clerk gave her the change and said, "An heres yaw change, fahv dallas an nahndy three cents." Lori giggles at her and answered, "That sounds so cute!! Ive only heard people talk like that on television! Im from up north." She said the woman laughed and then got a really serious look on her face and leaned into her and replied, "Honey, yall woudnt want to live here. There aint no Walmart for over 30 miles!" Lori assured her that since she spends most of her time there, that no indeed, she wouldnt. Finally at 10:00pm, she threw in the towel and got a room. She still has that fractured pelvis that never healed right. She is on meds daily for that. (driving is not impaired) So by 10:00pm, she was suffering with stiffness and the girls were getting ansty. She has about 6 more hours today. I deducted the times for sleeping and eating and the final result will be that she drove from Westerly, RI to Destin, Florida (Which is way over between Panama City and Pensacola) in just about 23 hours. That is really good time. Ill just be glad when she gets there. The girls are amazed at the palm trees. They are seeing a world totally different than the one they left. I am sure they will have a great time. Well, time to go shopping. You all have a great Sunday! Later, Cosmic
