Truth is Stranger that Fiction Thank you all so much for all the wonderful comments. And now with the news of the hour: IT�S A BIRD, IT�S A PLANE, IT�S SUPERDONUT!!!
This has got to be one of the strangest stories I have ever heard, not to mention told! Before I begin, my daughter Lori is fine. Lori had a bond to do Sunday night. She drives a Chevy Blazer and was headed up Route 2 in Connecticut. It was about 9:00 P..M. It was a nice night so she had her window rolled down no more than halfway. She was riding along minding her own business when all of a sudden she said she felt a huge pain as something hit her in the side of the head. At first, she actually thought she had been shot! She swerved a bit and pulled over to the side of the road and stopped. At that moment her ear and head hurt like the devil. She reached her hand up to her ear and felt something gross and sticky. Turning on the interior light, she realized it was blueberry jelly. My daughter may have had a momentary lapse where she feels pain and fear, but as quickly as that came it was gone and she was pissed! She banged a u-turn and took off after the guy. Buy the time she caught up with him, she saw there were two cars. Of course as luck would have it, at the next stop sign, they both went in opposite directions. She followed one to a dead end and immediately turned around and went back the way she came. She didn�t want to get boxed in. (Thank God). She went back up the road and pulled into a restaurant parking lot and noticed a white car with a young guy just sitting in it and realized it was one of the two cars she had been following. She called the police and in two minutes they were there. As soon as they pulled in, the kid in the white car took off. They talked with Lori and she told them she though that was the guy. They offered to go stop the guy, but by this time Lori had calmed down and told them to forget it. She realized that even though it was stupid, it wasn�t intentional. My first thought was that he could have killed her! With him going 40 mph and her going 40mph, that hit her at an extremely high speed. After I calmed down, the reality hit me. Do you realize the odds of that happening? Both cars doing 40, him throwing out the donuts at the exact moment she was going by and managing to slip through a space of only 10 inches? Wow, the odds have got to be astronomical. Oh, and if you read that last paragraph again, you will notice I said donut�s�. plural. Yup, she not only had one explode against her head, but she found a whole one in the back seat the next day. The one that hit her did so with enough force that it looked like a massacre on the inside of the opposite side of the vehicle. If it had been strawberry, you would have thought someone had been murdered in there. So we now have a new catchphrase around here. If something is very, very fast, it isn�t real fast, it isn�t lightning fast, it is now �Jelly Donut Fast!� Yup, that�s fast. Later,
