Just another rant As I am still in the "cover my ass" mode, I have deleted the last entry. Thank you all for your comments. They were all appreciated.
Well, now we have Jeanne to contend with. Damn it, enough already!! I have this surreal thingy spinning in my head. All the hurricanes lined up in August ready to spin off into the Atlantic. The loudspeaker sounds: Hurricanes, START YOUR ENGINES! R-r-r-r-r-oar!!! In the number one spot, we have Charley and next in line is Frances. Ivan is at the near outside in third position and Jeanne and Karl are fighting for the 4th position. Oh wait. It looks like Karl has pulled out of the race. I guess he doesn't have the stamima to stick with it. In the lead is Charley. He comes up quick and merciless. He plunges through the front line causing destruction and panic in his wake. Next up is Frances who desn't seem to be threatened by Charley and causes her own troubles as she quickley gains the spotlight. As she fades into the background Ivan takes the lead and leaves horror and misery behind. But the race is not over. We still have Jeanne to finish the race and end (hopefully) this hurricane hell of the season. I am not taking this lightly. Lots of lives have been lost this year. Lots of destruction has been created. I just want it over. No, I have not suffered any loss. I live in New England. I have not lost a loved one. I have not suffered the loss of home nor property. I have just read too many newspapers and seen too many TV broadcasts about the devastation these storms have cost. And if I hear one more person say that people in the south should just move because of the hurricanes, or that the people in California should just move if they are worried about Earthquakes, or that people in the midweast should relocate if they worry about Tornados I will scream, I swear. Get a clue. You are born in a place. Where is irrelevant. You have roots. You have grandparants, great grandparents, brothers, sisters, etc. This is your home! You grow up with these threats. You live every day of your life with the realization that mother nature can be a bitch. You are going to leave family and heritage because of these threats? I don't think so. I would like to see these people just move across country and leave their people. Ok, so those are my random thoughts tonight. Deal. Later, Cosmic
