Movies and Medcu What a nice weekend this has been. Friday night, we just chilled and watched our Friday night TV lineup. Joan of Arcadia, Jag and Medical Investigations. No biggie, but relaxing. Yesterday, though, was a different story. I had a great day. It started when Lori called to ask if I wanted to go to the early movie with her and the girls. They were going to see �The Incredibles.� You all know I am a sucker for a good kids movie, but the idea of spending 2 hours in a theater with who-knows-how-many kids didn�t seem like my idea of a good time. I couldn�t have been more wrong! The movie was fantastic and the kids were possibly the best behaved bunch I have ever been in a room with. They were all mesmerized. The only noise was when something funny happened, which was quite often. Then we all roared. There was no talking or crying at all! Wow, was I impressed! The theater runs a little blurb at the beginning asking everyone to turn off their cell phones. Not one of them rang throughout the movie. Lori stuffed the kids pockets with little bags of candy. They are too young to know that theater policy says you aren�t supposed to take food or drinks in, so that was fine by me. The stuff the sell is a ripoff! Anyway, they still got our money. Lori is pretty frugal. She bought a large popcorn, a large soda and a tray of tacos. That struck me as strange. I�ve never seen tacos in a theater before. She is also very wise. She arranged seating so that there was Brittni, 12 then me. Then Miya, 4. Then herself and then Deja, 7. Then she just passed all the food left and right throughout the movie. I finally just shared my soda and popcorn with Brittni so it went rather smoothly. It was a 2 hour movie but it flew. At one point, I thought Lori was going to call MEDCU. I had taken a swallow of coke and then offered some to Brittni. Not thinking, I asked if she wanted some before swallowing. I inhaled about a quarter cup of coke into my lungs. Have you ever tried to strangle quietly? It can be done. Of course the part where your AREN�T BREATHING AT ALL is very quiet. I finally was able to choke enough up to stop, but not before scaring the hell out of Lori and Brittni. That happened within the first 15 minutes of the movie so 10 minutes later it was all but forgotten. Go Grandma. The movie itself was great! Adults will get a lot of the lines that will go over the kids heads and there is enough violence to make it a great boys movie, but strong female characters so the girls will love it too. Go see it. Really. It obviously (for us) is good entertainment for those 4 to 51! They had picked me up for the 1:00 show, so I was home by 3:30. I decided to invite sister Stella and b/f Jeff over to play Trivial Pursuit last night so I called to invite them and ended up inviting them for dinner. I put a roast in the oven and played on my computer until they arrived around 6:30. We ate and then played until 11:00. It was a slaughter. Jeff won with his 6 pieces, I ended up finally getting 3 and sis got one and hubby didn�t get any. It seemed that we could answer a bunch of each others questions, but Jeff was the only one fortunate enough to be able to answer his own. It was fun, none the less. Today is a day for cleaning a bit and then watching our taped stuff this afternoon. Yup. A good weekend. Next week I work Monday and Tuesday and then Wednesday is Terry�s procedure. I�m off Thrusday for Veteran�s Day and taking a personal day on Friday, so I will have 5 days off in a row!!! Hope your weekend is going well. Later,
