Lovely Sunday

I Want to Be a Bear!

If you're a bear, you get to hibernate. You do nothing but sleep for six months. I could deal with that.

Before you hibernate, you're supposed to eat yourself stupid. I could deal with that, too.

If you're a bear, you birth your children (who are the size of walnuts) while you're sleeping and wake to partially grown, cute cuddly cubs. I could definitely deal with that.

If you're a mama bear, everyone knows you mean business. You swat anyone who bothers your cubs. If your cubs get out of line, you swat them too. I could deal with that.

If you're a bear, your mate EXPECTS you to wake up growling.

He EXPECTS that you will have hairy legs and excess body fat.

Yup..... I wanna be a bear

No, I didn't come up with that. I received it in an e-mail, but I thought it was cute.

I sewed a skirt! I sewed a skirt!

Well ok, it isnt exactly a skirt.

I didn't wear it last night because when it was done, it looked more like a daytime thingy instead of an evening thingy. This is good though. I will get more use out of it wearing it to work. I finished the skirt and then proceeded to put a bib and straps on it. I think it came out rather cute. I took out the pattern from the envelope, looked at it and decided it looked too much like rocket science, so what you see came from the top of my head. I at least know how to measure. The straps are actually straight. One was just kind of off my shoulder in the pic. The only thing I DON'T like about it, is that it makes me look rather hippy. No, not 60's-pot smoking-love/peace hippy. As in Henrietta Hippo hippy. I am not that big. Really, everyone knows a the camera adds 10 pounds! Pay no attention to the messy house behind me!

I got it done in time to make a cushion for my chair that hubby painted for my sewing room.

Yes, yesterday turned out to be quite productive. And we finished the day with dinner at the Venice Restaurant. For being with the boss, the board of commissioners and co-workers, it was possibly the most fun I have had at one of those affairs. The food was great. Hubby and I had the Prime Rib. It was huge. I will be having it for lunch again today. Well, I must run along now. I have a house to clean before company arrives at 3:00. I also want to sew the curtains for my sewing room. After this skirt/dress/jumper thingy, they ought to be a breeze! Ooops! I hope I didn't jinx myself again!

Later...

Later,
Cosmic
