Rose Red and the Casino Morning all. I just deleted a few of my favorites. I only deleted those that don't update anymore. Not the rest of you. My list was just getting too long. I like the new buddy list thingy. Now I only read about 30 per day that have updated instead of clicking all of them. Not that I mind, except after clicking on 8 in a row that haven't updated, (Like my own) it gets old. ______________________________ Beautiful day out there today. This is my favorite time of year. I love having it cool for sleep and warm during the day. I know, I've said that before. ______________________________ I went to our local thrift shop yesterday and scored big time! (It doesn't take much to please me.) I got a new (too me) cookie jar. It's the cutest thing. It's in the shape of a bog ole fat chef. He is painted with colors that match my kitchen, so that's all good. Thank you, nzforestguy, I am picking up your phrases. Anyway, I also picked up a pretty Holly Hobby miniture plate. I bought that only because I figured it is worth much more than I paid. It cost me $1.00 and there are a bunch of them listed on e-bay for $10.00 so if I decide to list it, it will have one nice little profit there! I like that stuff. I love e-bay. Last week I was all bummed out because I bought this Gateway and it only has 2 USB ports. Unfortunately I have a webcam, a digital camera, my cable high speed connection and a printer that all need a USB connection. I checked out the price of a hub on the net and the cheapest I found was about $40.00. I went to e-bay and got a brand new 4 port hub for $16.00. That included shipping and handling. Not too shabby. It works for me. I have bought a few other things from there too. My Walsies for my kitchen and some other stuff. 5 more deals on there and I get a little yellow star! Whoppie! ______________________________ My trip to NY in October is cancelled. Not enough people to make it worthwhile. This is actually a good thing. I told hubby that since we never got to do anything for our 5th anniversary that when I get my Bonus in October we will do something together. He asked me what and I told him it will be a surprise. Well, I was thinking that we could go to the casino and see a show, gamble and spend the night. Sure!! It is around $260.00 just for the room for one night! So just as I was about to give up on the idea, I get a postcard from them in the mail for a special promotion. Only $100.00 for the night! Go me! So we are going to do it. He still has no idea. That will mean that we can do all we want to do and that night, we can order room service just like the rich and famous! One night to pretend we have money. Sounds like fun. And the good part is that we can't use it for the weekend so we will be there on a Thursday or Monday night. That means it won't be quite as many people. The whole 24 hours will cost about $400.00. That's because when we go to the casino, we allow ourselves $100.00 each to gamble with. It may seem like a waste to some people but we never go anywhere. I don't care how much it costs, we earned it! And we both love that place. It is all handicapped accessible and the food is great. If you eat at the bouffet, it is all you can eat for $10.00 per person. They have prime rib, shrimp and tons of other stuff, complete with desert. And while you are gabmling, drinks are free. What could be better? Well a weekend fishing and camping would be better but that's no longer in the cards and hubby isn't an outdoorsman anyway. ______________________________ Well, time to finish the laundry I started yesterday. I watched 6 hours of Stephen King's, The Stand yesterday. I never got to sit and watch the whole thing before. I loved it. I still need to catch the first 2 hours someday. I keep missing that too. Then at 8:00 the second of three episode's of Rose Red was on. I never read that book, so this whole movie is new to me. The last part is on tonight. That one is a whole lot scarier than The Stand. I am a Stephen King junkie, as you may have noticed. Watching The Stand last night I realized why Stephen King only does cameo's in his movies. His acting sucks! He played a role in that one where he had more speaking. He better not stop writing because he would never make it as an actor. Well, I have to get my butt in gear and do something productive. Catch ya'all tomorrow. ______________________________ Oh, one other thing. I have now had 45 people take my survey. When I have 5 more (IF I get 5 more) I am going to do a little summery of the answers just to see how the answers were percentage-wise. Might be interesting. Might not. Later... Later, Cosmic
