Just a great Day! Who is was finger lickin good tonight??? ME!!!!
Sister Carol was the Emmet Kelly sitting down next to me. This isn't the best picture, but my batteries were dead and the Gentleman who took the pics for the judging was nice enough to download this to disc for me to bring home. If you will look to the upper left hand corner, you will note the TV box on the table. This was not just a little 9" black and white, na-uh! This was a 13" color TV/VCR Combo. Well by the time they took the pictures, I had been in this getup for an hour. Little did I reallize when I made the beak, that the shoulder pads, being foam rubber and the positioning over my mouth and nose would stop any and all breathing! It would also prove to cause, along with the vinyl poncho, profuse sweating. Add that to the lack of oxygen and Tada! You get Karen hyperventilating and being extremly uncomfortable for that hour. They took the pictures of everyone in costume and picked the three finalists. Sister Carol and I were two of the three. Then they had everyone applaud for their choice. (Ahem) The TV/VCR Combo looks rather nice on top of hubby's dresser. I WON! I WON! I WON!!!!! Damn Straight!! The picture really doesn't do justice. It cut off my adorable chicken slippers that I scored today at Family Dollar for 4 bucks. Also, I had sat and gotten up about 5 times so my shorts were peeking out from under my "box". The box was actually a large bag that I covered with contact paper and ribbon. I walked into KFC at lunch time and asked the manager if I could have an empty bucket. You should have seen the look on his face. He said, you want an EMPTY bucket? I just answered yes. It's for a costume. He just looked at me strange and said, "OK" and handed me one. That's how I got the KFC logo that I stapled to the front and back. You also can't see my "tail" that I had on the back. The feathers on my head were bright red leaves I pulled off the bush in front of my house and glued to the top of the poncho. I thought, although stupid, it did look original. Total cost of costume: $16.00 Total spent for bingo: $35.00 Total cost of TV: $149.00 Total won at Bingo: $20.00
Net profit for evening: $118.00 Total enjoyment at spending the day with Sister Carol, having hubby almost pee his pants laughing at the thought of me leaving the house dressed like that, the fun and comments at bingo: Priceless! Sister Carol won $20.00 and I gave my older TV to Brother Pete, so everyone came out a winner!!!! To add to an already wonderful day, this morning I went into work to sit with my co-workers and our Union rep. This may prove to be the best contract we have signed in the 8 years I've been there. It's tentative, but hopeful. Ahhhh, Life is good. Later... Later, Cosmic
