Manic Monday, Feeling like a Sunday Again, thanks for the well wishes. He is going home today. I had told the nurse Saturday, that Terry went through the same thing after his angioplasty. What was happening in Terry�s case was that smaller veins were having spasms but they were too small to show up on the EKG, so they didn�t have a clue how to stop them. He had pain upon pain until the doctor that was covering for our regular MD had him try Cartia XL. From the next day on, he has never had a pain.
As I said, I told the nurse this. Well last night they decided to do another test. To verify what was causing the pain, they took him back down to surgery. They ran the lines again and just waited. Sure enough, the pain came back and they isolated it.
It is one of the smaller veins going into spasms. Not deadly, not even dangerous. Just painful. They have started him on medication to stop the spasms and are kicking him out after lunch. Yes, he is still having pains, but they are leaving treatment up to his regular cardiologist.
The nurse told me this morning that she had told the doctor about our conversation. He told her to tell Pete to mention the medication to his cardiologist. I wish they had tried it there. He is still having the pains, so obviously, the meds they have him on now are not doing the trick. But he isn�t in danger anymore. So now I can breath. Terry is cooking brunch, so I�m going to pick up around here and kick back with some TV time. ********************
