Aftermath First of all, yesterday was really, really, really nice. The food, the company, the entertainment and all. I will definitely be sending and e-mail to Shaw�s Marketplace. The meal was scrumptious. I can honestly say that though I am a pretty darn good cook, I could not have done better. If you don�t know what I�m talking about, click back to yesterday�s post. I told everyone we would be eating at 3. I put the Turkey in at 12:30 on the dot. It said you could reheat everything in the oven. The potatoes, stuffing and squash were all supposed to be in for between 25 and 35 minutes. I put them all in three separate pans and covered with tinfoil. The oven was set at 325. The rolls were to go in for 15 to 20 minutes at 350, so instead, I put them in at the same time (2:30) as the veggies and stuffing. I chose to reheat the gravy on top of the stove. Something just seemed too weird about oven heated gravy.
As soon as the bird was in, I made my onions and white sauce. My Thanksgiving MUST include them. Terry made his turnip/carrot dish and we sat back to relax while the stove did the rest. At 3:04, everything was done to perfection. OK, so hang me for 4 minutes. The turkey was one of the moistest birds I have ever eaten. So, l-empress , yes. If Stop and Shop is as good as Shaw�s, it is definitely the way to go. There were 5 adults and I have enough left-overs for another complete meal for Terry and me. Oh, and their (Shaw�s) apple pie was delicious. I had a lemon meringue that never made it�s way out of the fridge. Stella brought a mince meat and a pumpkin. We were so stuffed after dinner, nobody had room for pie. They took pieces home with them. After dinner we watched �Duplex�. If you haven�t seen it, please do. We laughed our butts off through the entire movie. I have seen many good comedies, but it is a rare one that actually makes me laugh out loud. We all did. Through many, many scenes. Go rent it. Seriously. Next, as you can see, I changed the template. Blame chaosdaily and golfwidow. It�s their fault. I was going along on my merry way when I clicked on Chaos�s and fell in love with it. Mine needed some brightening up. It will only be up till after Christmas, then I will endeavor to try something new. Well, that was my holiday in a nutshell. A good time was had by all. Sister Stella and Jeff are moving next Friday so it was good we had one more family day before she left. Niece Sarah still hasn�t had her baby. It should be today. They sent her home yesterday and she was back in at midnight. Poor sister Buella is beside herself. If I were closer, I would drive up to NH and keep her company, but it�s too far for me on the highway. I only drive around town. I�m a skeerdy-cat. Catch you all soon. I hope never to go ten days without a post again. I was having withdrawal.
