Never thought I would miss the cold. This is getting ridiculous. Our weather here is causing all sorts of problems. My daughter is getting over pneumonia, My bosses granddaughter is getting over pneumonia and several others are getting a stomach virus that knocks you out of commission for a few days.
30 miles north of us the schools in two towns are closed. There is a strain of pneumonia that has spread into encephalitis in two cases and meningitis in one child.
This is very scary.
I blame the weather. I hate the cold and the snow, but this just isn�t normal. Our average temperature for today is 38 and the average low is 21. The temperature today will hit 60 and the low tonight is supposed to be 44. Looking ahead for the next 10 days, there isll be one day it will go don'n to 37 but other than that, temperatures will remain above 45. The plants and flowers don�t know what is going on. The grass is still green and the trees still have leaves on them. Two mornings I have had to scrape a very light frost from my windows in the car. Two mornings. It is January 6th in New England for God�s sake! I love that we aren�t having frigid weather, but at what price? I am seriously worried about the health of people around here if we continue with these temperatures. It just isn�t healthy. Two schools are already closed to prevent an outbreak and I fear it is just a matter of time before this spreads. Today is laundry day and kick back movie day. Terry didn�t sleep well last night, I guess. It is 10:54 and he�s still sleeping. I hate sleeping that late. I feel I�m wasting the day. That�s ok, I can wait for him. Oh, if you like drama and scary without a lot of gore, go and rent Snakes on the Plane. Really good.
