food, food and more food. I have (thank you very much, Kathy) applied to be on Diaryland Survivor.
I don't know if I will get picked or not. If picked, I don't know if I can survive. If I don't survive, I may just have to kill myself rather than face the shame. Wow, does this sound like fun or what???? Wish me luck anyway.
We got out of work at 12:00 today. We (office and maintenance staff) took boss lady to lunch to celebrate her 25th anniversary at the job. I love going to lunch with this crew. I am a basic hamburger and fries type person. Not today. I would be damned if I was going to cough up $20.00 for lunch and eat a hamburger and that was the only "plain" food offered. No, not I. I had the Chicken Focaccia. It is focaccia bread, which is yummy. The sandwhich itself is made with grilled chicken and ham, accompanied by prosciutto, goat cheese, roasted peppers, and sprinkled with balsamic vinaigrette. I have never in my wildest dreams, wanted to try goat cheese. I really didn't realize it even had it. All I heard when Jan said she was ordering it was the chicken sandwich part. It was scrumptious!! It came with a wonderful tossed salad of arugula, and other assorted greens, plum tomatoes, and slivers of carrot and zuchini. Add a blue cheese dressing and slide in a coke and I was good to go. Waaaay to much food for one. I brought home half the sandwich for Terry and left half the salad. I was stuffed. We had closed the office so after lunch I came home. I was in the door at 2:00. It works for me!
Surgery is a week from tomorrow. I am starting to get a tad nervous. Not the mess-up-my-sleep nervous, just a think-about-it-now-and-then-nervous. But like I have told others facing an unpleasant situation, a week and a half from now, it will just be a memory. I can deal.
Daughter and grandbabies came for dinner yesterday. Wow, are they growing up fast! I weighed them while they were here. 32, 42, and 75 respectively. The 3 year old is really 15, I swear. And eat! Wow can the little ones eat. The middle one, Deja came back twice for mashed potato and the littlest one, Miya came back twice for carrots and potato. I swear, they ate more than I did. I threw on a Lilo and Stitch while their mommy and I caught up on things. Lori is such a good mom. I am proud of her and the job she does with the girls. They are well behaved, polite and cute as can be. I love it when they visit. It seems so deathly quiet when they leave. Like the silence after a tornedo. Whew. I'm glad my days of little ones are over. I couldn't even think of doing it now for over 3 or 4 hours at a stretch. Love it when they get here. Drop when they leave. Well, I'm off to pick up the kitchen and do something constructive. Yup, I think I'll construct me a drink. Later... Later, Cosmic
