Bunches of O's Ok, I'm now living in the twilight zone, right? Arnie is the Governor of California. The Cubs and the Red Sox are in the playoffs. It is supposed to be in the 80's tomorrow in October in New England. Oh, and I "MIGHT" be a winner. Is the whole universe going mad? In all fairness, Gary Coleman might have won, but he came up "short" in the ballots. Larry Flint? Gimme a break. Well, if he had won, they would have given him an office and a big desk and Monica Lewinski could have gone back to work, I guess. I'm glad for Arnie. I'm glad for California. I'm glad I live in RI. I go for my pre-tests tomorrow. Pre-test? What's up with that? Do I have the "real" tests the day of surgery? What if I flunk? I don't even know what the hell I am supposed to study! I get an EKG too! I guess that means I have to shave my legs. I hate shaving my legs. It isn't as if I plan on wearing shorts again this year. I wouldn't even bother to shave, but do you know how much it hurts when they rip off those little patches and pull the hair with them? Pluckin meow! I am trying to decide if I am going to let the tech in on the fact that I've had a mastectomy or not. I can either just let her discover it herself when she attaches the electrodes or open the gown myself and just scream, "My boobs! Who stole my boobs??" Ya, I'm sick like that. I don't mind not having boobs anymore except that I will never live out my dream of winning a wet T-shirt contest. Oh well, the agony of it all. I have to go back to work on Friday and then I'm off untill whenever. According to the doctor, I am going to be in bed for one week. Ya, right. I won't do the stairs or walk around because gravity is not conducive to good healing in this type surgery, but you can bet your a**terics, I will be sittin up. And you can bet where I'll be sitting too. The plan is to have the surgery on Tuesday and update my diary Wednesday. Bet I do too. Hope I do. Maybe I will. We'll see. Ok, enough silliness. I have to get serious for a minute. There recently was a Jogging for Jugs walk in Canada. I didn't know this was taking place because I had never read marn's diary. She asked for donations and said that anyone who made a donation could tell her the name of someone that has survived breast cancer. Well, unbeknownst (sp?) to me, golfwidow made a donation in my honor and my name was written on marn's t-shirt in the race. I am so moved by this. I thank golfwidow for making the donation and mentioning my name and a huge thank you to marn for walking the walk. She raised $3,264.96 herself! It's people like her that will help win the war on breast cancer. If you would like to read about the walk and see the shirt, it is HERE Thank you again, Marn for not just talking the talk, but for walking the walk. Later... Later, Cosmic
