"twas a rather lovely day. Absolutly wonderful Thansgiving! We got up around 8 and Terry did the potatos, turnip and carrots for me. After he was done, I made my pickle/olive tray and then moved on to the appitizers. (hate looking up the spelling for that other word every time I try to use it) The gang showed up at 1:00 and I had everything ready. They came out fantastic! The crabmeat ragoons were better than any chinese restraunt ones I have ever had. The scallop/bacon were scrumptious as always and there isn't much wrong you can do to shrimp cocktail. But I did. Terry and I eat the mild sauce. Ok, we are wimps. I accidently got the three alarm HOT. Needless to say, Stella, Jeff and Pete loved it. Terry and I just ate the shrimp. I had bought 2 pounds. I still have better than a pound left. That's fine. Shrimp scampi for dinner tonight and pea soup tomorrow night. The ham came out excellant too. Again, it was a fully cooked half ham, so aside from bringing the sauce/water to a boil and slopping it on in the last 10 minutes, that was a no-brainer too. The ham only took one hour. But between all the phone calls to out of town relatives and everyone having their turn to talk, I forgot to start the veggies on time and then the ham had to wait. So our 3:00 dinner wasn't eaten until 4:30. After all the appitizers, that wasn't a bad thing. Pete had his beer, (only drank 2 - surprise!) Terry had his 1 celebratory vodka/7 and the rest of us had our Captain Morgan spiced rum and eggnog. Ok, I had 4, so hang me! It was a nice day. I got some good news too. Harry may not be going back to Iraq. He may be kept at Fort Campbell to attend school for a promotion he is up for. I will be so happy if that is what turns out. He will find out Monday or Tuesday. Please keep your fingers crossed for us. He has served 8 months over there. I for one, think that's enough.
I finished a site for the town of Ashaway. I played with a diary until I got it worked out for them. I did it for free because it is only being displayed until December 13 and they don't have much of a budget for advertising. I don't feel too bad about doing it on Diaryland, as I am a Gold Member and only use 3% of my allotment for photos. Andrew is making his money off me. If you are interested in what a small town is doing for a Christmas community program, check it out at ashaway. If you want to leave a comment, please leave it here. I hope to keep the guestbook there for local peeps. Thanks. Well, Terry has made brunch (sausage gravey and egg over English muffins, yum) so Im going to eat. Hope you all have today off too. If not, I hope it goes well anyway. Later... Later, Cosmic
