from the start.

Wednesday, May. 09, 2007 12:26 P.M.

Not much to upsdate, but here it is.

Another beautiful day outside. Another not so beautiful day with the computer. Nick (my computer guy) came by yesterday and told me he tested the hard drive and it's fine. He said that only leaves the motherboard (about $100.00) or the power supply.

I sent Lori to St@ples to pick up the power supply and it is now sitting on my table. Thanks Art for offering to send me one, but I got this before I read your offer. The good news is that this one will have a one year warranty, so I think I'll use it anyway. But thanks for the offer.

The additional good news is that he downloaded everything off my computer's hard drive so in case it IS the motherboard, I still have all my stuff. My movie file alone os now close to 650 and I really didn't want to have to re-type it all again. I also have all my pictures, passwords, bills and everything else downloaded now.

This will all be moot if it's the power supply anyway, but I'm glad I now have everything backed up. He will be here sometime today to swap out the power supply and cross fingers, that's all it is.

I like this Dell, but I want my media center back!! I also let McAfee run out on this one and don't really want to download it on this one. I guess I will try to find one of those freebee antivrus sites for now.

We ordered Terry's new car carrier. I don't know if I mentioned it or not and I am too lazy to go back and check. We had a manual lift on the back of his car. It was supposed to be used to "walk" his power chair onto so he could take it with him. Then he could go to Wallm@rt, the doctors, or whereever else he wanted to go.

Well, that didn't quite work out as planned. He would lower the base and put the ramp down easy as pie, but when it came to walking the chair up, the front wheels would hit the ramp and then slowly lift the middle drive wheels off the platform. We tried everything to make it work. No go. Putting a lower hitch on wasn't an option because there would be the risk of it breaking with all the weight. So last week he sold that to a lady that had a lower bumper and it works fine for her.He gave her a deal on it and took a huge loss. Ir finally went after 8 days in the paper, so I guess we are lucky to have gotten as much as we did.

So now we have ordered an electric one. He just drives it on at ground level and pushes a button. That's all there is to it. Oh, and of course, paying for it. It's doable.

So we waiting for that now.

Oh, by the way, if you are password protected I may not be reading. All my passwords are on the other computer. I remembered flying rat's but not most of the others. If you want to send it to me again, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Later,
Cosmic
