Ho Hum Saturday What an emotional rollercoaster for me today! I have good stuff/bad stuff this week.
Bad Stuff...
One of our residents passed away this week. Wonderful man that will be missed.
My bosslady's mother passed away day before yesterday. The wake is tomorrow at 4:00pm and the funeral is Monday. She was 92 and a beautiful lady.
Today is the 21st anniversary of my own mother passing away.
In 9 days, I turn 49. (UGH)
I went to Bingo Thursday night and lost.
Good stuff...
Picnic today that should be a blast. A friend is visiting next door from Canada that I only see twice a year.
The weather has turned fabulous! I have Monday off, making a long week-end.
Next week-end I get out at noon because we get 1/2 day for our birthday and I am taking Monday off too so I get another long week-end.
Oh well. Ya have to have a little Ying with your Yang, I suppose.
I have had two more people join my over-40-crew diary ring. Actually, it was a person and a site. Yup, that's right, Classics has joined my ring. One of the three that runs the site may be over 40, or maybe they are just saying that we are so old that WE are classics. I dont know, but they are welcome anyway.UPDATE: Mystery solved. A dear man named Uberhamster Joined the ring from Classic and meant to join under his own name. See what happens to you when you're over 40?
The ring is pretty good for newbies. There, at least, you can get a list of mature diaries if you are so inclined. Its funny though. I have favorite reads from 15 to ? If I have learned nothing since starting my journal, it is that writers, and I mean good writers can be any age.
As you can see, I am only listing my favorites on my profile now. This is MUCH easier to handle. I now have 49 diaries that I read all the time. Thank God they dont all update every day. The only problem I have now is that when you read from your buddy list, it doesnt highlight that its been read, so it does get a little hectic. And my list keeps growing! I have to work on a better mousetrap I guess.
I have decided not to buy the King size bed. No hubby and I are not fighting. I just figured it might just be easier to push both twins together and bolt them at the inside legs. I have to measure and figure out the dimensions. Remember I said I am putting up a canopy? Well I forgot one minor detail. In true Trading Spaces fashion, the ceiling fan has got to go! Hubby is a little sad about that, but I hate it anyway. The damn this is loud! You dont notice it until about 2:00am. But it has this annoying little tic-tic-tic-tic that reminds me of Chinese water torture in the middle of the night. It also wiggles when its on high. It is right over hubbys side of the bed and close to the bottom, but I have these visions of it falling down some night. So, yup, its outta there! I have also designed (in my head) the canopy already and so I am on a mission now. It will all be done in the next few weeks. Well, time to get busy. I have a huge salad to make for the picnic today and there may be as much as 25 people there, so thats a lot of chopping. Later...
Later, Cosmic
