Bingo, Ames and Sisters, oh my! Hey Ho! Just got back from Bingo. Did I win? Yup! $25.00. Unfortunately, it cost me $40.00 to win it. Net loss, $15.00. Which considering what I usually spend, and the fact that Sister Carol and I had two drinks at the bar before we went, I didn't do too bad. Could have been worse, Sister Carol's net loss was about $35.00 and she won a $20.00 game but had to split with 2 other winners. Could have even been worse than that. Brother Pete's net loss after bingo and pull tab tickets was about $40.00. Yup, as far as the three of us goes, I was was the big winner. Well, I guess you would have to say I was the Smallest loser. Depends on how you look at it. I guess ya had to be there. The muggies are back in a big way. No air out there to speak of all this week. Tomorrow is supposed to bring storms and clear some of this out. Yay! Tomorrow is Friday. (There is a God) and the boss lady isn't coming in. Just me and Janet. Life is good. Well Ames Department store is going out of business. For those of you who don't know, Ames is a big department store that has been in business since 1958. Another victim of the Giant Walmart monster. Don't get me wrong, I like walmart better, but I feel bad for the 21,500 people that are going to be out of work. At least they didn't wait till right before Christmas or during the winter in the Northeast when the fuel bills are high and people are trying to make a holiday for their kids. Still, I can't imagine what they are going to do. I don't care what you do for a living, if you have a job, keep it! They are getting scarcer and scarcer every day. Retail is a hard job. I know. Been there done that. I just hope they can find work. On the up side, there will be 10 weeks of going out of business sales. The employees will still get their discount until they close. That's better than how some businesses do it. Some of them just close the doors and leave everybody hanging. Well, it's getting late. Sister Buella will be here tomorrow night and stay the week-end, so I amy not post again till Sunday after the picnic. Then again, I may. If not, you all have a great week-end now, ya hear? Later...
