Flintstone Finale GOODBYE-FRED
Henry Corden, the voice behind Fred Flintstone, has passed away. Boxx told me. Another childhood legacy comes to an end. They can replace the voice, but Fred will never be the same. Laat week we saw the demise of Frank Gorsin, this week Fred Flinstone. In just the past few years, it seems I have seen half my childhood slip into the abyss. I know life goes on, but you forget sometimes that it doesnt go on for everyone. These two men were very old. They had lived very rich and full lives. That in itself is wonderful, but it makes on take a look at ones own mortality. Your perceptions start screwing with you as you get older too. When I think back to when I was in kindergarten, it seems like it was another lifetime ago. It is almost like it happened to someone else. That was forty years ago. But when I was watching Airplane with Terry yesterday, it shocked me that the movie came out in 1980. That was 25 years ago but it seems like just yesterday! It is almost like the first 25 years of my life were in slow motion and lasted forever and the past 25 have been like the Roadrunner, ZIPWANG! Im serious here folks. I met Terry in 1995, but when I remember the day we met, it seems like 4 or 5. Having my daughter was actually 32 years about but seems like a lifetime ago. Try it. Take a piece of paper and write down something that happened every few years since you were born. Starting school, then a TV show that was on when you were about 10 or so, Your first boyfriend/girlfriend, then graduation, marriage, etc. Write something for every 10 years up to now. Next, think about how long ago it Seems since then. I started at kindergarten and everything seems like it happened a lifetime ago until I hit the time I started working the resorts in 1990. From then until now seems like yesterday. 1990 was 15 years ago but it seems like just the other day. More recent things seem even closer in my mind. It doesnt seem like I have been at the same job for 11 years. It sure doesnt seem like I have been living in this apartment for 8 . Perception what a deceiving little thing sometimes.
I have to go grocery shopping. I sent away for something. I dont know if I mentioned it or not. If I did, just ignore the following paragraphs because I am too lazy to go and look. I lost a bunch of weight a few years back, (Was it really 5?) by going on the Atkins plan. Wonderful diet. THE FIRST TIME. I lost 32 pounds i 3 months. Repeated tries with this diet have not worked. I am not alone in this. I have read many reviews and this is what happens with many, but not all people. Its almost like your body learns and remembers.. So anyway, I sent away for the Michael Thurmonds 6-week body makeover. Ok, it was expensive. Ok, it isnt the easiest diet to follow. Ok, so Im nuts. But I am doing it starting tomorrow anyway. I spent a good part of yesterday reading the literature and putting together my own personalized blueprint. It operates on the principle that diets starve you and make your body go into survival mode and hold back all the fat and you can actually gain weight. The principle behind the 6-week makeover is to eat more! Yup, 6 meals a day. I can eat potatoes!! It is very scientific. I will not bore you with anymore details. Oh, one more. Yes there is exercise. But You use bands for all of the exercise and they come with the plan. 18 minutes per day, two days a week. I will, if anyone has any questions, answer any you may have. I am starting tomorrow at a starting weight of 155. Well see how it goes. You all have a good Sunday. Yabba Dabba Do!!
Later, Cosmic
