Cosmic's TV Premier Critique I decided to take out the side picks and go seasonal ones for awhile. Just a change of pace. I like my general format so don't look to seeing that change for many moons. It works. Murphy's law. I ain't fixin it. I'm just going to change pics and colors as the mood and holidays hit. Deal. I know, I know. You layed awake all night long worried about my layout, didn't you? C'mon admit it. Ok, that killed a few lines. Moving right along....
We watched a bunch of season premiers this week. Along with the standard Law & Order and L&O SVU I watched the season premier of ER. WOW! That was a shocker. I was surprised they killed of Luka. Oh, did I spoil it for you? Did you tape it and haven't had a chance to watch it? Sorry. Ok, Not really. On Cosmic's Critic Scale, I give it an 8. Still a lot of leftover yada-yada from last season. Abby and Carter still off and on, Dr. Romano, the one-armed jerk is still a jerk and still one-armed.
Another come back was JAG. On Cosmic's Critic Scale, I give it an 5. Same old, same old. Getting boring.
New show, The Handler was excellent. Great idea. Sort of a Mission Impossible without the bells and whistles. On Cosmic's Critic Scale, I give it an 9. I would give it a 10, but there's room for improvement.
I think the one that surprised me the most so far was The Brotherhood of Poland, New Hampshire. I figured it would be a good one if you were having a problem trying to sleep, but it wasn't like that. Being from Maine, I found it both humorous and charming. A good cast with Dennis Quaid and others. On Cosmic's Critic Scale, I give it an 7. It will need to step it up and add a few characters to keep it interesting.
Jake 2.0 was cute. A nerdy 20-ish guy gets infested with nanoites and becomes supergeek. Instead of sucking out the billions of dollars worth of nanoites, they make him a sort of CIA agent. Yup, I can see why this country is in the poop it is. On Cosmic's Critic Scale, I give it an 3. Unles you are a 14 - 16 year old girl, I don't think this will have you on the edge of your seat unless there is junk in the chair keeping you from sitting back. Silly and totally unbelievable. I know this may confuse those that know I am a Trekkie. One could argue that this is no less believable, but this is just plain dumb. Worf and Captain Kirk would concur.
One more new show we caught, was NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service)>On Cosmic's Critic Scale, I give it a 6. Though this is produced by the fine people at JAG, is seems to be just a knock-off attempt that merges Jag with CSI. I think it will be one that I pass on. Hubby may continue to follow it though.
Turning from TV to Movies, I bought the Banger Sisters video. I give this movie a 10! I am a Goldie Hawn fan. I always have been. This movie had me and Hubby laughing out loud. One scene in particular was one of the funniest I have ever seen in a movie. And it didn't hurt to see that no amount of money can hide your age when you place a bare arm and hand to the camera. Yes, I love her, but it's good to see, even her, finally start to show her age. Ewww, Aren't I the catty one! Later... Later, Cosmic
