Yea though I walk through the shadow of the hospital.... First Off My Friday Five
1. Do you watch sports? If so, which ones?
Not if I can possibly avoid it. Oh wait! I do if I have money on it.
2. What/who are your favorite sports teams and/or favorite athletes?
If I had to name favorites, it would be Boston Red Sox and Washington Redskins. I am originally from Maine, ergo the Sox and the first money bet I ever won was on the Redskins.
3. Are there any sports you hate?
Most, but I think golf and Tennis are at the top of the list.
4. Have you ever been to a sports event?
Yup. One Red Sox game and a few Maine Mariners Hockey games.
5. Do/did you play any sports (in school or other)? How long did you play?
Do darts and pool count? I played league in both games. Oh, and was on a bowling league one year too. Boy, that was easy!
In other news, are you ready for this? I went to the hospital Thursday for my pre-tests. I gave 4, count them 4 vials of blood. I peed in the cup (thank god for soap and water, since my aim sucks!) I leave and go on to my EKG at my doctors office. Nurse/Tech Mary was on duty so that took the wind out of my sails for the Who-stole my-boobs line. She knew my history. Damn. She hooked me up to the ticker-picture-taker and after a few moments said that though it was a good picture, she wanted another one. She is a perfectionist, you see. She is really a nice lady. Well, the machine didnt want to work anymore, I guess and kept giving her a bunch of faulty read-outs so she let me go. Doctor Bob met us in the hall. She showed him the graph and he gave me a sterling bill of health. I figured I was done so sister Carol and I came back to my house for coffee and then she left. About an hour after, the phone rang. It was the Westerly Hospital. They wanted more blood. Huh??? It seems that when they put my blood in the machine the vials somehow broke. Not just mine, but 3 other peoples as well. Well aint THAT special? I told her I would come back again this morning. Ten minutes later the phone rang again. I told Terry they probably lost my urine sample. Nope. Someone else. This morning I went back into the hospital and there must have been 7 or 8 people waiting. I walked up to the desk and the receptionist asked if she could help me. I told her I got a phone call that my blood got broke. She whisked me right in. No waiting. The do try to make up for their mistake. After she drew another 4 vials of blood, she handed me a cup. I laughed. I asked why she needed yet another one. She explained when one thing goes wrong in lab tests, they ditch all of them and start over. That makes sense, I guess. So off I go to the potty to once again pee in the cup and on my hand. This was ok, plenty of soap and water, but Hark! Is it me, or is there absolutely NO TOILET PAPER in the bathroom. I used paper towel, tossed it in the trash can (well I didnt want to clog the toilet) and walked out. I walked up to the back of the desk where stood the receptionist and two vampires and asked where the cameras were. One of them asked what camera I was talking about. I said the Candid Camera. I told them that first they broke my blood, then they tossed out my pee and now am I supposed to tinkle on my panties??? I just hope their comedy of errors end before Tuesday. In all fairness, it is an excellent hospital. Accidents happen. I am not really upset about it. I came home today and am on my second drink to replenish my liquid content. Oh shut up, I know its not the same. I am now officially off work until further notice!!!! At least for 16 days! Hell ya!! And the Sox might be in the World Series. It doesnt get much better than this! Well, it would be a little better if it were a vacation, but hell, Ill take what I can get. Uh-oh, I can feel my body dehydrating as we speak. Gotta get another drink. Later... PS In case you haven't noticed, I totally screwed up my archive pages. Damn it! HELP!! Update!!! All fixed now. I didn't do anythin different today than I did yesterday. Maybe the archive site was wonky. Oh well, it's ok now. Thank you wyndspirit and katress for you help!
Later, Cosmic
