Reunions? Friday is here once again. This week though, it isn�t as desperately needed as usual. This week has been great. Even the weather has been fantastic. Aside from the humidity (Which I HATE), it has been sunny and mild. Yup, per usual in New England, we have gone from winter to summer in one fell swoop. Hardly any spring here. I missed the Frasure finale last night. It isn�t a huge deal. Like Friends, I had pretty much stopped watching it a few years back. I did tape the Carol Burnett Special on Wednesday night though. I haven�t watched it yet, but I am sure I am going to love it. I watched the Dick Van Dyke special on Tuesday night and was very disappointed. I felt like someone must have come up with the idea one day and the conversation must have gone something like this: Guy one, �Hey, let�s get the cast of Dick Van Dyke together and make a special.� Guy two, �Gee, are any still alive?� Guy one, �Well Dick and Mary are, and maybe a few others.� Guy two, �What will it be about?� Guy one, �I don�t know. We�ll just stick them all in a room and let them talk about the good old days, show some clips and call it a show.� Guy two, �Ok, let�s go for it.� Unfortunately, they probably only spent 13.6 minutes writing the script. The good news is that Dick Van Dyke and Jerry Van Dyke have stayed in show business throughout the past 40 years, so they don�t seem to have changed much. Mary Tyler More wasn�t so lucky. Her wide mouth smile has been stretched another 3 inches probably due to face lifts and looks frozen. I bet is stays like that when she sleeps. And Rose Marie? First of all, I thought she died 30 years ago. But she was such a ham, maybe she did and just came back for the show so she wouldn�t be outdone. She is now 77 years old and I don�t know what kinds of surgery she has had, but she looked like Jabba the Hut. Scary. Very scary. The script sucked big time. Mary tried to deliver her trademark line, �Ohhhhh Rob!� but it fell flatter than a pancake. Carl Reiner, and whoever played �Mille� rounded out the cast. Buddy, Morey Amsterdam along with Mel, Richard Deacon had passed away years ago, so of course they didn�t appear. It didn�t bill itself as a reunion. Instead, it called itself the 159th episode. It should have stopped at 158. A clue here folks. If you are going to revive a show, do it after 10 years. Maybe 15, but please don�t try it after 40. It doesn�t work unless you are Carol Burnett. I am going to have nightmares of Courtney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry sliding across the stage in wheelchairs and walkers in 2040. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak! Later� Later,
